Hi. My name is Bill Bean (hence Bean Photographed) and I am a professional and affordable wedding photographer and storyteller, based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.

With over 10 years experience in wedding photography I am dedicated to capturing the best moments on your wedding day at an incredibly affordable price. We do cover the full width and breadth of the UK but I tend to cover weddings in Northallerton, Durham, Newcastle and Leeds, so largely the North East and North Yorkshire.

Photo journalism at a wedding is what I truly love and without doubt is the best form of wedding photography. I like to think that couples and their guests don’t even know they are being photographed. This enables you to capture those all important natural photos as you follow them around by allowing them to do what they want to do without direction or control.

Weddings are about smiles and happiness and enjoying the moment. This approach and style also ensures they get the most from their day. You often find then that their smiles and reactions are more genuine when they don’t even know that you are capturing those eternal moments.

Quite often when they review their photos they tell me that they didn’t even know that I had captured that moment.

Yes, in every wedding there has to be an element of posing to ensure the key photos with family and important guests are included but they are minimal and everyone is by this time so relaxed with my style and approach they are only too happy to have them taken.

My style is relaxed, approachable, flexible and definitely photo journalistic to ensure the real happy humorous wedding moments are captured.

When I talk to my couples prior to their wedding day I always say that time travel is not possible but that a photo locks in a time, location and memory. When viewed ten, twenty, thirty years later, it can immediately take you back.

Therefore I believe it’s important to know that you are taking a photo not only for the moment but the future. I therefore help my couples to think of every photo as a potential classic that can stand the test of time.

To achieve this I feel constant communication both prior and during plays a huge part in building trust. This enables the couples I photograph to feel more comfortable and relaxed with my presence as I float around their wedding day capturing those important soft candid moments.

I feel it’s also important to remember that every wedding couple is different and will always have their idea of how they wish you to photograph their day.  After meeting their wishes and key expectations I feel it’s also important to try and provide surprises and give them something a little special and perhaps unexpected.

This can come from using the stand out features of the venue or stand out photos such as the champagne shot, smoke, hairspray shot, umbrella shoot, sparklers, fireworks, new moon rising, bubbles, hidden portraits to name just a few.

Nobody wants to know everything that is going to be in their gallery.  No matter what your age or experience everyone likes to be pleasantly surprised and have photos of their big day that they will want to look at again and again.
